Married Summer 2015 from Denver Catholic Speed Dating: Henry & Christina; And Brian & Amy!

  • Posted on April 19, 2015 at 8:26 am

Congratulations Henry & Christina who met February 10, 2013 at Thai Basil downtown Denver during Valentine Catholic Speed Dating! The now-Denver residents were married June of 2015 in the bride’s home state of Indiana!

These are some, but definitely not all, of the couples we’ve had married off from this!

We’re so busy on the ministry side of this, tending to the people involved more than updating the web site, that we’re a bit behind on the wedding pics of several! Some are still awaiting a time we’ll get to post their beautiful photos! We’ll post as we go, and as you share. But more importantly, we’ll marry people off as we go!

As Fr. Edison of India and who currently serves at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Fort Collins, Colorado once said in homily, in ministry, don’t get caught up in the corporate number-keeping everyone in the secular world wants us to do. Do the work itself. So we shall!

And to Brian & Amy who first met July 29, 2012 at Old Chicago on Grant in Thornton during Midsummer Catholic Speed Dating! They were married July 2015, three years to the month since the day they met at our event!!

Many Spin-Off Marriages Starting with Denver Catholic Speed Dating!!

From one of my former speed daters, Sarah DeMoor (now Sarah Hodack) alumni of 05/06/11 Spring Catholic Speed Dating Age 20-35, who got married last weekend: “Haha you’re right about no more speed dating for me…however, I have to say that me doing that once was the start of me meeting Troy. (After attending she went on other blind dates)… But then my aunt and one of her friends set me up on another blind date, and this time with Troy! The rest is history. What I learned for sure is that you can’t just sit at home and hope to meet someone. You have to go out and put yourself on a limb and trust God has a plan.” Photo by Seth James Demoor, of Used with permission of Sarah Hodack.

Matt & Brandi knew they had to circle the word “date” for each other after the first seven minutes of conversation during their mini-date at a Denver Catholic Speed Dating event. What happened after is history in the making.

in relationship with fellow speed dater Matt M. since Jan. 2012, after meeting at Denver Catholic Speed Dating Oct. 22, 2011!!

Brandi B. and Matt M. marked stars and circles for each other around the word “Date” on the sheets they handed in during the Fall Catholic Speed Dating Oct. 22, 2011. When he called her, she asked that they got to know each other on a platonic level for about three months before getting into a relationship. On New Year’s Day, they announced their relationship. Close with each other’s families since then, they are among happy couples emerging from DCSD events. Ever since then, I call Quincy, the bartender at Old Spaghetti Factory Denver a “lucky for love” bartender since he was our main restaurant guy that day. They cleared me permission to share a few favorite photos of them… here they are.

Serious about dating Catholic? Now is your chance to prove it. Denver Catholic Speed Dating LLC is designed to bring those looking to date within the faith into a vibrant yet comfortable setting to have them meet and possibly match with those who place similar priorities on their dating life. It was born of the strong circles of Catholic faith in and around Denver, one of the most renowned dioceses in the nation. The first event to pilot this business made national news on both and Catholic News Agency wires. The link:

Catholic Speed Dating Event Draws 51 people, results in some 34 dates:

So why speed date?

To answer the question of whether or not you know if you want to continue a conversation with someone of the opposite sex if it hasn’t started beyond “Hi” or “How are you?” Or to see if your interest can go beyond just thinking someone is attractive or might be interesting. Compatibility can’t be established based on looks alone. Discovering if two people already have a rhythm of conversation can be telling toward knowing if there’s a connection. Here, you have a chance to start a conversation that’s beyond 5 words in a setting where both parties have dating within the faith in mind. And take it from there…

At Denver Catholic Speed Dating events, participants have 8 to 12 mini-“dates,” getting to meet and talk with each person for 6-9 minutes. It is fashioned to take place in cozy, focused and date-style setting.

Afterward, each participant will have timely results delivered to them via email about their own scorecards, matches made and those interested in them. It makes for a great evening out and the chance to meet potential dating interest.
